Eco-Organizing
We live in a world that is moving towards sustainability and one way we can support that movement is by making sustainable decisions. Here are some ways to be organized and environmental!
Buy Eco-Friendly Materials
A lot of organizing products are made with plastics, which, despite their clean beauty, are no friend to the environment. Instead of acrylic organizers, look for options such as bamboo, steel, or glass.
If you shop on Amazon, like most of the modern world, look for products that are marked with the “Climate Pledge Friendly” stamp. This stamp was created so that shoppers have the ability to consciously choose “products that meet sustainability standards and help preserve the natural world.” Amazon has multiple sustainability certifications that products can qualify for, such as carbon neutral and EU organic.
Shop Sustainably
Hands down, the most sustainable way to shop, is second-hand. You would be surprised at the quality of things that people choose to get rid of. There are so many ways to shop second-hand. Of course, there is the traditional thrift shop. There are consignment stores, where people who donate their belongings get a portion of the sales. There are even second-hand stores online now, such as Poshmark, ThredUp, The Real Real, Facebook Marketplace, and more.
